Fleetwood Town 0-0 Doncaster- Match Report

Fleetwood held at home by DoncasterJimmy Ryan rattled the woodwork late on as Fleetwood and Doncaster ground out a 0-0 draw.Ryan almost settled the game in Fleetwood's favour 11 minutes from time but his 25-yard-old thunderbolt smashed against the crossbar as the points were shared.Fleetwood enjoyed the better of possession but it was Doncaster who carved out the real chances of the first half.Lynden Gooch forced a fingertip save from home goalkeeper Chris Maxwell as his long-range effort from the left flank looked like dipping under the bar. Then a mix-up between Maxwell and centre-half Joe Davis opened the door for Andrew Williams - a last ditch challenge sparing the defender's blushes.Amari'i Bell went closest for the hosts, reaching the back post and getting a toe to David Henen's cross but he was only able to find the side-netting.Doncaster continued to press, Gooch almost sent clear by Richard Chaplow but scuffing his shot while Williams was unable to beat Maxwell after cutting in from the right.Fleetwood rang the changes around the hour-mark, throwing new signings Devante Cole and Alex Kiwomya into the action. And the pair nearly combined with a quarter hour remaining, Kiwomya's cross from the right inches away from the toe of the former Manchester City youngster. The hosts went closer still when Ryan's shot from outside the box hit the bar, and neither side would come closer than that in the final stages with the result for Fleetwood keeping them in trouble near the bottom of Sky Bet League One
